How I use LiveJournal
I keep a LiveJournal and am on there constantly. It’s a much more organic blog. It’s one of my social outlets. That journal is 98% friends only. Which means that the entries are not visible to the public. In order to see my posts you will need to create your own LiveJournal account. There is no requirement for you to keep your own journal. Friend me and then go to this post and leave a comment.
To see my LiveJournal click here. (You will only see the public posts, unless you login.)
I’ll usually friend anyone back, assuming there is a common denominator. Generally I may not friend back unless there is a description of who you are and we have similar interests. Please do not feel hurt if I do not friend you back. I do not promise that I will read your journal if I do friend you. And, even if you are friended you may or may not be in one of many different friends filters. I use them and I use them often. Just because you can see it does not mean everyone else can. I can filter posts on a user-by-user basis. Please do not re-post or release information you gather from a post that is locked.
I reserve the right to post sensitive material, and private information to friends only, or under filters.
The most vulgar or irrationally tirades are secured under a rant filter. This is a filter that people had specifically stated that they want to be in. This is not to say that what I post in that filter I feel I need to keep private - but it is a vain attempt to limit the cursing spam that I inflict on my friends list. I may get a little testy, and post some adult language. If you are not in that filter it does not protect your friends list in any way, I may not(and will not) censor myself. If you want to be on my rant filter please leave a comment at this post.
My Activity on LiveJournal
These are a few of the communities that I’m involved with. Some I maintain, other I merely participate in. Please see the individual user info pages of each community for more information.
- 427 Fandom
- My media/graphics journal. This is the place that I post graphics that I make for use at LJ. Mostly icons of various fandoms, as well as stock imagery. I also post banners, headers, graphic tutorials, and userinfo tables (basic html table designs)
- Hogwarts Elite
- I’ve been sorted as a Ravenclaw at Hogwarts Elite. It’s a geek club for Harry Potter fans. It’s quite active, and the people are great. There are diagon alley shops, games, graphics, trivia, discussion, fan art, and fun! Apply and be sorted!
- Header Contest
- A community of bi-weekly challenges where participants create LJ graphic headers. I founded this community over a year ago when I felt more of a draw to larger graphics. Up until that point I had really focused on 100×100 pixel icons.
- Lumos LIMS
- A LIMS challenge. (Last Icon Maker Standing) It’s a weekly challenge that the every fabulous and awesome Amy and I founded together when we felt like creating a high quality community based on Harry Potter. Yes we are geeks.
