What a wonderful wedding, and great photography experience. Both families and friends were a joy to be around, and the fabulous Megan McIsaac was there capturing all the moments I couldn’t. I have over 500 images to sort and process, but here are some of my favorites so far.

I got to take some photos as my cousin Lovena’s wedding last weekend. The above photo is my Uncle Grant moments away from giving away his little girl.

A sweet ceremony, and a great party. I was glad to have made it. I’m off to another wedding tomorrow. Tis the season I suppose.

Heirloom Tomato Salad with Basil and Fresh Mozzarella

The thing I will miss most about The Growing Season will be the tomatoes. They will be absent from my life though the winter. I will long for my fresh, ripe, delicious tomatoes. Next year, they will come back next year, like they do every year, and I will taste heaven again.

I must cherish the remaining tomatoes that we have gotten. Today our CSA box provided the largest heirloom tomato I’ve ever seen. I will cherish it and treasure this time before the final Harvest later this Fall.

I’ve been a yarn machine lately. Above is my first knit hat, Fire Flower! I adore the yarn and colorway. Below are a couple of hats for some little girls Neice Hat & Everliegh Hat. It’s all about the bobbles!!

My brain is so full of ideas and inspiration and motivation… but my body doesn’t quite want to keep up. I’m both insanely busy and lazy as molasses all wrapped up in one. I am hoping the weather will get me back into high gear. Outside it’s a wonderfully sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. Though, it is HOT. 80° F isn’t the worst it could be, but it’s quite the jump from the rainy wet gray days of last week.

In other news, I’ve been looking at our budget with despair, but in the back of my head I know it will be all right in the end. We’ve just got to push forward and continue our money saving habits. (which yarn purchasing is not helping *slaps hand*)

I am finally opening my etsy shop! So, I have a day job, a night job, and now a part time business, add on the fact that I’m starting school at OSU… I’m a busy little Beaver… Go Beavs!!

Wish me luck, I think I’ll need it.

They chose two of my photos to be featured in their Eugene Monthly magazine mock-up for sales and bidding of a new local magazine. “Line up the Color” taken at The Science Factory at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon. As well as “Building,” taken of The Citizen’s Building located at 10th & Oak St., downtown Eugene.

I’ve joined the insanity that is Ravelry.com and I’m loving it! The biggest bummer is having to wait for an e-vite from their servers. It took me about a week (even though it said 3 days). However, TOTALLY WORTH IT. This is a great resource for keeping track of crochet and knitting projects, your yarn stash, and patterns and more! My username is fourtwoseven, hope to see you on there.

I can’t wait to delve in more. Time isn’t on my side unfortunately, but I’ll find it soon I’m sure.

PS: I purchased bamboo flooring for my office! I can’t wait to set it all up and be organized and junk. Now I’m off to face the snow and ice laden roads. Wish me luck!

Meet Michael Jackson. A happy little guy whom we dog-sat last week. He was a joy to have in our home.

I should mention WHY his name is Michael Jackson. He has one white paw. It’s hard to tell in these photos. I just wanted to point that out.

I finally got around to putting together a book of my photography. This is obviously just a sample, and includes mostly still life. I was really excited to get it today, and can’t wait to show it off to friends and family.

It also includes some self-portraits, puppy portraits, and wedding shots!

It didn’t take me more than a day to put it together. Getting it just right took some time, and looking back I see a few minor things I could have improved on. Hence the title “1.0″ … it means that there will be more books to come! This is an exciting thing for me.

Blurb has a few draw backs. Specifically the number of options for page layout. I was quite limited. However, I’m very pleased with the minimal style I came up with. I just wish there was more flexibility with the Blurb software. I think I might be able to get around some my pet peeves with some PhotoShop magic.
